The top 10 PS5 games globally by monthly active users (MAU) were Fortnite, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II/Warzone 2.0, Grand Theft Auto V, FIFA 23, EA Sports FC 24, Rocket League, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege, NBA 2K24, Apex Legends, and Minecraft. Fortnite retained its top spot as the most popular game on the latest PlayStation console. Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto V also retained their #2 and #3 rankings, respectively, while EA Sports FC 24 rose a dramatic 65 places in the ranking to take the #5 spot.
There was a significant amount of movement in the top games rankings on PS5 in September, though the top 10 titles stayed largely the same. As said before, EA Sports FC 24 made a splash in the ranking, as did Saints Row (2022) & Boss Factory and Mortal Kombat 1. Deep Silver’s action-adventure title leaped 239 places to reach the #12 spot, and Mortal Kombat 1 rose 68 spots to rank at #17.
Electronic Arts (EA) had the most titles in the top 20 PS5 game rankings last month. Our list featured five titles from EA, including FIFA 23 and the new EA Sports FC 24.
The top game publishers by number of titles included in the top 20 PS5 games this past month were:

- Activision Publishing with three games;
- Epic Games and 2K with two games each;
- Rockstar Games, Psyonix, Ubisoft, Mojang Studios, Deep Silver, Blizzard Entertainment, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, and Bungie with one title each.
The PS5 has backward compatibility to run physical PS4 game discs and digital PS4 titles from your library. However, some titles aren’t fully supported due to the different system architecture.
