Apple is the biggest company of smartphones and it introduces new smartphones almost every year. In June 2020 Apple introduced its latest version of iOS operating system, IOS 14 that was released on September 16th. It is considered to be Apple’s biggest iOS update, till this day. A new home screen design, major new features and updates for existing apps along with the city improvements and various other tweaks have been incorporated in the iOS interface. Redesigned home screen:
Apple has introduced a redesigned home screen which includes support for visitors for the very first time. The videos can be dragged from the Today view onto the home screen and they can be pinned in different sizes. The overall look and feel have also been changed which makes the home screen more aesthetic.
Smart Stack Feature:

Each home screen page can display widgets that are customized for several purposes. The videos for work, travels, sports can be separated. App Library:

These apps are organized into your folder system but these are also Apple created folders like suggestion and Apple arcade that intelligently surfaces these apps. The new app downloads can also be added to your home screen or kept in the app library to keep your home screen cleaner and aesthetic.
Space Saving Measures:
There have also been new space saving measures which means that the incoming phone calls and Siri requests will no longer take over the entire phone screen. Your phone calls/ FaceTime show up in a small banner over the phones display while activating Siri you will be able to see a small animated Siri icon at the bottom of the screen.
Picture-in-picture mode:
With the help of the picture in picture mode the users can watch their videos or talk on FaceTime while using other apps. The FaceTime or a video playing in the small window can be resized or relocated to any corner of the iPhone screen and you will be able to use apps with it as well. Imagine you are in a zoom meeting and you have played your part, but now you just have to be a part of the meeting. This picture in picture mode will help you stay on zoom and you can keep using the apps on your smartphone while being connected.
Siri is smarter
In the iOS 14 Siri is smarter and it can answer a great range of questions, along with a greater range of information bold across from the Internet. Siri can now also send audio messages.
The dictated messages have an additional layer of privacy as well.
Add clips
Apple has also introduced add clips to iOS 14 that will help the users take advantage of some apps without downloading the full app. These clips can let you do things like rent a scooter, purchase a coffee or call a restaurant and book a reservation. All of this can be done without needing to download a full app.
Messages App:
Apple has introduced messages in an updated form. They have now introduced pins as an important conversation feature in the messaging app so that your conversations can stay at the top of the app. The messages can be pinned by a simple swipe to the right on any chat.
Apple has also introduced a mentioned feature for group chats which means that even if a chat is muted a notification will be sent to the user whose name is mentioned. Group chat photos can also be customized with an emoji or an image. The icon for each person at the top of a conversation will make it clear who was the last one speaking.
The new memojis options have also been introduced. These memojis have included additional hairstyles, hardware, face covering etc. that will add more character to your emoji making it look real.
