Funny practical jokes can make everyone laugh. These types of jokes are lighthearted and are quite different from a written or verbal joke. Pranks, as practical jokes are sometimes called, involve someone doing something to another person.
An example would be college students using a tow truck to position a professor’s car on the roof of the college. After the tow truck leaves, the teacher leaves class and cannot find his car. He at first thinks he was robbed, but then he notices that other students look up at the top of the building and laugh. He then he looks up to find out where his car is. Then of course he goes through the thought process of wondering how the heck the car got there and how will he get it down (this actually happened at Oxford University).
This was quite a complex practical joke. When everyone laughed, the students responsible for the prank had the tow truck returned to them and gently placed the car in the parking lot.
funny dad jokes can also be very simple. At one point, a young man fell asleep on the couch at a friends’ house and had his fingernails and toenails painted pink while he slept. He never realized it until he came to work the next day and was shocked! He must have been half asleep not to notice. That was a harmless joke and they all laughed a lot, at his expense, of course.
Another simple joke is to just jump in and scare a friend when he least expects it. A nine-year-old girl habitually hides in the house when she sees her father arrive. She will wait and wait and wait, like a tiger waiting for her prey and then pounce when he reaches a corner. She scares him all the time. And then they laugh together.
That same five-year-old girl snuck into her father’s office when he was busy with the computer one day. Silently, she tied one of her father’s legs to the chair he was sitting on with a silk scarf. She was so careful and quiet that he never felt a thing. After tying the scarf, she hid behind another chair so she could see what was going to happen. She waited patiently as a few minutes passed. Finally, her dad got up from the chair and when she took her first step, the chair came with him. He couldn’t believe his eyes when he looked down to see her daughter’s silk scarf tied around her ankle to the chair. He burst out laughing and she jumped and squealed with delight. She did it again!
