How do I Make Money Really Easily?
Everyone could use a little fast cash every now and then. While quick and easy money won’t make you rich, you can use money earned on the side to cover bills, pay for a big upcoming expense, or even splurge for something you really want in life.

What are the best ways to make money fast? To help you get started, we’ve put together an exhaustive and practical list of 20 ways you can make $100 or more in a hurry. With so many ideas included, you should be able to find at least a few that will help you earn some income sooner rather than later.
1. Reduce Spending By Refinancing Debts
If you are saddled with student loan debt, mortgage debt, or any other loans where your interest rate seems high, have you ever considered refinancing? For the most part, refinancing your loans means that a lender pays off your existing loans and creates a new, single loan to be paid back at (ideally) a lower interest rate.
Many choose to refinance because it consolidates your monthly loan payments, but don’t forget that this strategy can lead to huge savings over time. And remember, you’re not adding new debt when you refinance; you’re simply moving your loans to new loan products with better terms.
Interest rates are extremely low now as well, which means you can refinance today and lower your payments for years to come. Plus, money gleaned from refinancing is really just “found money” you can spend elsewhere in your budget.
How much can you save? Imagine for a moment you have a 30-year home loan for $250,000 and your interest rate is 4.5% APR. In that case, you would pay $1,267 per month in principal and interest on your loan for a total cost of $456,017.
However, the same loan with a 3.5% APR would only cost you $1,123 per month and $404,140 in principal and interest payments over that time. This means a single percentage point off your loan would help you achieve over $50,000 in savings.
The exact same rule applies to student loans and other debts you have, which is why you should take the steps to refinance at a lower rate if you can.
2. Earn Quick Cash With Online Surveys
Online websites like Survey Junkie will pay you for your opinion. The average survey will pay between $0.50 and $1, and there are new surveys available each day. Survey Junkie is our favorite, but there are many other options as well.
On certain sites, if you qualify, you can even access surveys that pay over $5 each. Many of the surveys take less than 5 minutes to complete.
3. Get Paid to Shop
If you shop online, you might as well start earning something in return. Fortunately, it’s common for cashback shopping sites to pay a sign-up bonus to new users on top of the cash back you can earn for using a portal each time you buy something online.
4. Collect Cash from Microinvesting Apps
You may think that investing for the long-term is the only way to make money with this strategy, but you’re wrong. Scores of investing platforms and micro-investing apps will actually pay you cash just for signing up!
You know it’s a good idea to start putting money away for the future, you might as well pick up some free money while you’re at it. Acorns is a great place to start. Its super easy, and its 10X New York Times bestselling author, David Bach’s favorite savings and investing app.
5. Get paid to drive people in your car
Taxis are expensive and people (not just millennials) have embraced ride sharing apps like Uber and Lyft as a cheaper alternative.
So why not give people a lift in your free time? It’s a very easy way to make a quick $100 — and probably much more.
You will need to pass a background check and have a valid in-state driver’s license and auto insurance. The process varies by company, but is mostly painless and worth going through if the goal is to work for yourself.
Don’t have a car? No problem! HyreCar is a marketplace for car rentals prequalified to drive with Uber and Lyft!
Below are companies I recommend checking out to get started.
Brand | Details | Promo |
---|---|---|
Uber | 700+ cities around the world | $500 – $1k sign up bonus |
Lyft | US + a few cities in Canada | $1k sign up bonus |
6. Deliver Food for Local Restaurants
Restaurants that get a lot of requests for food delivery (pizza joints), hire full-time employees that just deliver food.
But what about restaurants that rarely get delivery orders? It doesn’t make sense for them to hire dedicated delivery guys.
Technology has solved this problem — and it’s an easy way for you to make extra cash.
This is how it works: Uber drivers take people from one place to another. Uber Eats drivers, however, take food orders from restaurants to customers. Instead of the app pinging you that a passenger needs a ride, the app pings you that a restaurant needs food delivered.
7. Rent Out a Room in Your House
Do you have a room (or a house full of rooms) to spare? If so, you can make some quick and easy cash by renting your extra space out. If it’s permissible in your community, you can rent a room to a boarder for $100 per week, or $400 per month – or even more if you live in a highly desirable location.
Airbnb
Airbnb allows people to travel all around the world and to stay in accommodations that can be considerably more affordable than traditional hotels.
Their site breaks rentals into three categories: a private room, a shared room, or an entire home. Rent out whatever you have available and collect the cash!
VRBO
With over 2 million rental properties, most of which are entire homes, VRBO has established itself as a legitimate service for renters and owners alike.
If you have an extra home you could rent, VRBO is a better option than Airbnb.
Vacasa
Vacasa is a vacation home rental management company. In other words, you can’t rent out a spare room in your house on Vacasa like you can on Airbnb, but you can rent out your entire thome.
Vacasa is a great option to make passive income since they do all the work for you.
8. Score a Bonus When You Open New Bank Account
Many banks are so eager for your business that they offer bonuses just for opening an account with them.
For example, Chase is popular for offering generous cash bonuses on their Chase Total Checking® account. In order to get the bonus, you have to set up a direct deposit. Other than that, you are good to go.
9. Sign Up for a Rewards Credit Card with a Sweet Bonus
Some cards offer a “bonus” of $100 or more if you can meet a minimum spending requirement within the first three months. As long as you pay your balance in full each month, this is truly free money for the taking!
10. Get your Bank and Credit Card Fees Refunded
Managing finances can be hard. Recoup makes it easy to get your bank and credit card fees refunded, manage subscriptions, lower your bills, and stay on top of your financial life.
Recoup safely finds your hidden bank fees and files claims on your behalf. Fees you may get back may include overdraft fees, ATM fees, monthly account maintenance fees, and more. There are no membership fees to sign up, and you can cancel any time.
11. Rent Your Car Out On Turo
It used to seem weird to rent out a spare room to a stranger, or to stay in a stranger’s home when you go on vacation. Thanks to the likes of Airbnb, we are no longer scared of the sharing economy.
So let me ask – how do you feel about renting out your car?
Rental car agencies (Enterprise, Avis, Budget, etc.) are awful to deal with and too expensive.
A company called Turo has disrupted the industry, just like Airbnb disrupted the hotel industry. People across the country are earning money from lending their cars out to strangers.
If you aren’t using your car for a couple of days, or if you have a spare one, simply join Turo’s free platform, list the car, and charge whatever you want for the day.
12. Start a Blog and Monetize It
Everyone with a product or service to sell is looking for agents to sell them. Find products you feel strongly about and become a dealer. Some higher priced items can fetch a $100 cut quickly.
If you have your own website, then affiliate marketing can become even more lucrative. You can place affiliate links on your website and potentially make money while you sleep. Some products offer small commissions of a few bucks that may not seem like a lot, but the point of affiliate marketing is striving to build up consistent commissions that add up in a big way over time.
13. Get Paid to Watch Pets
Pet sitting is another gig that you can take on in order to earn quick and easy money. Set up a profile using a website like Rover.com, and you can connect with people in your area who need pet sitting services or a dog walker. You get to set your own rates using Rover.com, and you can also create a calendar that blocks out dates when you’re unavailable.
While many people watch dogs using Rover.com for $20 per night, some people are able to charge $50 per night or more.
14. Earn $25 by Downloading the Root App
Car insurance can get expensive, and that’s annoying for those who drive with precaution and take good care of their cars.
Root is a car insurance company founded on the belief that people who are less likely to get into accidents should pay less for car insurance. Amen to that!
Better yet, the reason Root has made this list is because they will pay you $25 just for downloading their app and giving them a try! No strings attached.
15. Sell Your Clothes Through Consignment Shops
You can also sell used items you no longer want at consignment shops. If you have nice clothing in particular, then consider selling your items on a website like Poshmark.com. This online consignment shop lets you sell clothing and accessories for prices you set, and you can do this entire side hustle from home with little more than an internet connection.
16. Sell Used Electronics
Your used electronic equipment may have value, particularly if your items are recent and in good condition. Most of us have a few old phones or laptops laying around, so it makes sense to earn some cash if you don’t plan to use them anymore.
While you can sell used electronics on Facebook Marketplace or craigslist.org, you should also check out Gazelle.com. They give you an estimate on your equipment, and the better stuff could fetch some real money. The best part is, Gazelle.com will connect you with a buyer who will provide you with money in exchange for electronics you no longer need.
17. Sell Unused Gift Cards
Check your wallet and your dresser. If you’re like most people, you probably have at least a few unused gift cards sitting around. Some may even be for merchants you don’t frequent, or ones you never wanted in the first place.
If that’s the case, get some cash back on them by selling them on CardPool. You won’t get the full value of the cards, but it’s better than having them sit unused. The best part is, you can sell your unused gift cards online with this site, making it easy to unload them and get cash instead.
18. Sell Your Stuff to a Pawn Shop
You won’t get retail price for your merchandise, but pawn shops do offer quick money for items you don’t want or need. You’ll get the most value out of jewelry, weapons, and newer electronics, but you can pawn almost anything you no longer use.
19. Have a Garage Sale
If you have a few days to put together a yard sale, we highly recommend it. You’ll have to do some upfront work in order to advertise your garage sale and price each of your items, but it’s possible to make a few hundred dollars or more selling old clothing and junk you no longer need.
Whatever you can’t sell at your garage sale, you should try to sell on Craigslist. Not only is this website free to use, but it’s good for larger items that may be more difficult to unload in a yard sale.
20. Sell Other People’s Stuff Online
You can also sell other people’s stuff online, although there is more than one way to go about it. You can buy nicer stuff at garage sales or thrift stores then sell it for a higher price point using websites like craigslist.com or eBay.com. You could even sell your friend’s or neighbor’s belongings in exchange for a cut of the profit.
Whatever you do, make sure you “buy high and sell low” and factor in the costs of shipping into every transaction. Over time, you will make money.
How Can I Make Extra Money UK?
If you want to make extra money in the UK, then you’re in the right place. The UK is a great place to find work that you can do – where and when it suits you.
Whether you’d prefer to work online when the kids are at school, or would like to find a job that you can do during evenings or weekends, there are plenty of opportunities out there.
Some of them are quick money making ideas, while others are more long-term prospects.
Some options require you to put in good, solid hours of good old-fashioned hard work, while others need very little effort at all once you’re all set up.
As the UK has a decent minimum wage in place, any job that pays by the hour will mean that you earn a reasonable income, too.
So if you want to make some extra money quickly, read on to discover the multitude of exciting ways in which you can do so.
1. Complete Paid Surveys Online
If giving clear, constructive feedback is something that appeals to you, why not get paid for your opinion by signing up to complete paid surveys online?
It’s an ideal option for anyone wondering how to make extra money from home, as and when it suits them.
Like mystery shopping and other ways of making a quick quid, this is not quite the path to instant riches. But it is something you can easily do while performing other tasks – such as looking after a small child who is busy playing.
Our top picks for UK survey sites are:
- Branded Surveys: Massive range of gift cards – cashing out from 500 points.
- Ipsos i-say: Best for Amazon and Tesco gift cards, as well as prepaid MasterCard’s;
- Pinecone Research: High paying surveys and product testing opportunities
- Swagbucks: Earn points from surveys as well as watching videos and playing games;
- Lifepoints UK: Worldwide survey site with loads of surveys on offer;
- Inbox Pounds: Get paid to site that pays you to take surveys, shop online, use coupons etc.
Each completed survey will earn you either pounds paid via PayPal or vouchers for retailers such as Amazon.
2. Sell Downloads via Etsy
If you’ve thought about selling online but are concerned about buying and storing lots of stock, then check out this idea. It’s one of the best ways to make money from home – especially if you have a creative streak.
Selling digital downloads may sound like a complex way to make a few quid, but in fact it’s a great way to make some passive income.
Set up a shop on Etsy. Once it’s all there, all you have to do is keep an eye on it. It’s another example of the kind of work that you can do from anywhere.
Once you’ve created some digital downloads, you can literally make money while doing very little. And if you think you necessarily need to be a great artist, then you might be wrong there.
Think about how popular text images are now – such as motivational quotes.
You don’t need any fancy software to get started, and you could produce printables of anything from business cards or leaflets to planners – and of course artworks.
3. Make Money from Matched Betting
Looking for easy second income ideas here in the UK? Then here’s one you may not have thought of. Chances are you may not even have heard of it.
Matched betting works on a basic mathematical principle. People who learn to use this to their advantage can make some serious cash, although it’s not for everyone.
Making cash from matched betting does require a lot of willpower, as the betting companies do of course want to lure you into more gambling. If you think you may have any inclination to become addicted, then do please steer clear of this one.
4. Become a Mystery Shopper
If you’re often out and about shopping or you love a bit of online retail therapy, then check out this idea.
It is one example of how to make some extra money in the UK – while providing valuable feedback to improve the products and services offered by big brands.
You’ll need good spoken and written communication skills and the use of a computer. You should be able to give feedback in a clear and objective way, too.
Mystery shoppers are generally given a very detailed brief to complete. Your tasks may include taking photos, checking displays or stock levels and assessing the level of customer service offered by employees.
While many mystery shoppers do get out there into the stores, it’s also perfectly possible to work from home. Online shopping is on the increase, so naturally companies want to check the experiences of those customers too.
Pay varies, and while it’s unlikely to make you rich there can be some great perks.
Someone I know did some mystery shopping on the side, and before long was offered the chance to sample an all-expenses paid holiday.
5. Sign Up to Money Making Apps
In the age of the smartphone it really is simple to make some money from using your mobile phone. All you have to do is sign up to the best money making apps, and off you go.
The apps vary in what they require you to do. All will involve completing some sort of task in return for payment. Again, this is often made via PayPal or gift vouchers.
Some are mystery shopping apps, while others want you to upload photos of your shopping receipts.
You might be asked to complete surveys, perform online searches or even make short videos of yourself talking about a product.
Various apps can make you passive income in some way, or will request that you enter a competition or watch a video.
How Can I Make Money in 2022?
1. Sell Items On Amazon
Similar to eBay, Amazon.com may work better for entertainment media, such as books, music, and movies. A ton of people also make money via Fulfilled-by-Amazon (FBA), which involves buying items at a discount and selling them alongside other products with the retail giant.
Interestingly, Amazon will actually pack and ship the orders that come from your ads on the Amazon website in some cases. It all depends on whether you’re selling items you have possession of or whether you’re selling through Amazon FBA.
Either way, this money-making venture is worth pursuing based on the simple fact so many people shop online these days. It may take a while to start earning significant income, but your investment of time could easily pay off.
2. Flea Markets and Swap Meets
If you have a lot of time to kill and you have an eye for antiques and valuable items, consider heading to flea markets and swap meets to see what you can find. If you’re able to spend some time digging and checking prices for items online, you could easily find deeply discounted items you could buy. From there, you could list them on eBay or other websites at a huge markup with the goal of pocketing the difference.
3. Collect and Sell Scrap Metal
If you have a light pick-up truck or a decent trailer you can haul around, you can collect scrap metal from neighborhoods, building sites and junkyards, then sell it to scrap metal dealers.
4. Sell Your Jewelry
Take your gold jewelry and silverware to gold dealers or jewelers and you’ll likely fetch a better price than going to the “we buy gold” storefronts populating strip malls.
You can also sell high-quality jewelry online using a popular website called Worthy. This site lets you sell diamonds, gold, and more for prices you set, and you can take care of the entire transaction online with insurance and certain seller protections included.
5. Sell Musical Instruments
Reverb.com is an online marketplace that lets people sell unused musical instruments they no longer need. This website is great if you have old instruments from your high school or college band years, or if you find a nice instrument in a yard sale and know you can sell it for a higher price.
Reverb.com also lets you list your gear for free.
6. Sell Homemade Crafts on Etsy.com
If you can make handicrafts or any homemade items people like to purchase, Etsy could be the place to sell them. In addition to home decor and homemade clothing, this website is a great place to market and sell homemade cleaning and hygiene products like soaps and lotion. The best part about Etsy.com is the fact that you can make and sell anything you want.
7. Pick Up Overtime at Work or a Part-Time Job
While most of us don’t want to work more hours than we truly have to, picking up overtime at work can help you earn more money over time. As an alternative to working overtime, you could also offer to contract for jobs at work that nobody else wants. Offer to work on the jobs for a flat fee that will be paid outside your regular paycheck, and your income can easily grow by leaps and bounds.
You can also consider picking up a seasonal part-time job based on summer, back-to-school, any of the major holidays or even during snow season. A couple of weeks of part-time work can easily help you earn $100 and a whole lot more.
8. Employee or Customer Referral Program
If your employer offers a bonus to refer new employees to them, take advantage of it and start referring. Not only will you be helping people you know connect with a job they really need, but you can also make bank.
Likewise, you should see if your employer offers a customer referral program as well. If they do, put on your salesman’s hat and start beating the bushes for potential customers.
9. Make a Killer Suggestion at Work
Many employers have a suggestion box, but most employees ignore it. If the company pays a bonus for workable suggestions, however, then now is your time to shine. You may get the bonus because no one else participates, but it would be even better if your employer thought your idea was good enough to implement.
10. Babysit in Your Spare Time
Where I live, babysitters easily earn $10 an hour. However, it’s possible you could earn considerably more than that depending on where you live and how much experience you have.
If you need help connecting with potential clients in your area, try using Care.com. This website lets you create a profile you can use to find new babysitting clients, yet you still get to set your own rates and terms.
11. Become a House Sitter
People who travel frequently may need someone to watch their homes for a fee. You can check local newspapers and Craigslist for opportunities. If you’d like to use a central site, MindAHome.com can provide an online source of clients.
You can also try out TrustedHousesitters.com. This website connects you with people who let you watch their homes and pets in exchange for free lodging, and it’s possible to find a long-term gig in a resort destination you would love to visit anyway.
12. Sell Photos Online
If you love taking photos but you don’t necessarily want to worry about finding gigs, you can also take photos and sell them online. Shutterstock.com is a giant site that allows you to post and sell your photos online for a fee. This site can be lucrative since people need all kinds of photos for their projects, ranging from background and nature photos to pictures of special events.
13. Work as a Photographer
If you’ve checked the prices photographers charge lately, you know they can be prohibitive. If you’re good at taking photos, on the other hand, it’s possible you could get a piece of that pie.
You might be able to photograph a special event or two for at least $100, and it’s even possible you could find some recurring gigs or find ongoing work as a photographer’s assistant at special events.
14. Teach an Exercise Class
If you think that the only people who work in gyms are personal trainers, guess again. If you know yoga, Zumba, jazzercise, cycling or just about any other activity that keeps people moving, there may be a teaching position waiting for you at the gym.
Not only that, but lots of other organizations may want to offer exercise classes to their clients or workers. If you can get a few gigs per week, you could easily earn easy money and get your exercise in at the same time.
15. Write Product Reviews for Blogs
If you’re a tech junkie and you buy a lot of new products anyway, you may be able to do paid reviews on blogs. Blogs often have affiliate arrangements with tech products and will pay for user reviews.
An alternative is starting your own blog. It can take some time to earn money from blogging, but once you start it gets much easier to see the money rolling in.
How Can i Make $100 a Day?
There are plenty of ways to make an extra $100 in a day, and let’s face it: Everybody needs to make some extra money once in a while. Some of my ideas can put extra cash in your account today, others will require a little more time to develop. At least one of them should work for you.
1. Sell Your Stuff
Do you have stacks of cash sitting in your attic, closet, or basement? You probably do—in the form of stuff you’ve forgotten about or no longer need. Even worse, if you own a storage locker, you’re probably paying good money for zero value in return.
So why not sell this stuff and make extra cash while cleaning out your place at the same time? Selling unwanted items is a very quick way to make cash with a high earning potential.
2. Get Paid for Your Opinion
Plenty of websites out there need your input on products and services, and they’ll pay you in exchange for taking a paid survey, testing products, or watching and rating videos.
You can take surveys through places like Inbox Dollars and Survey Junkie, turning your Netflix time into real money-making time.
3. Be a Research Guinea Pig
You could participate in research studies or focus groups and get paid. And they don’t pay in rewards points or gift cards, they pay in extra cash (you can make $100 in a day!).
Typical research studies deal with consumer products like food or over-the-counter healthcare products. You would test the product out for the day and give your feedback. Sometimes this gives you a free meal, or they let you keep the products you’re testing. Not a bad way to earn a dollar!
To get into this line of work, you can contact your local market research company or go through companies like Pinecone Research.
4. Join the Gig Economy as a Freelancer
An obvious way to make money is to join the gig economy as a freelancer. You’ll find an ever-growing number of gigs out there, especially now that the pandemic has changed office life for so many companies.
Some jobs have low barriers to entry (when you don’t need training), which are perfect for a college student; others, such as consulting, require a lot of experience and education.
Getting started with a low-barrier-to-entry gig or online business is easy. You could be making extra cash within the hour.
It’s easy to start freelancing right away with the Steady App. Jobs are constantly being added to Steady jobs boards that need workers where there is a genuine hiring need.
5. Rent Out a Spare Room or Extra Space
If you’re going on vacation or traveling for a while, consider renting out your apartment or house for some extra cash.
You can even rent out any extra bedrooms you don’t use. Heck, you might have a second condo or house that you could rent out to people visiting your town.
Through sites like Airbnb, you can easily become an Airbnb host. Airbnb renters are typically tourists, people in town for an event, or those who are visiting friends or family in the area.
An average price you’d charge for a room or an apartment is around $100 a night. What if you booked your rental for every night of the month?
Before the fees from Airbnb or VRBO, that’s $3,000 for the month. A friend of mine makes over $10,000/month as an Airbnb host. And that’s the definition of what we call “passive income”—when you make money without depending on wages from a full-time job.
Another great platform to use is Neighbor. It lets you rent out any additional space you might have to neighbors for storage. So if you don’t have a house or an entire room to rent out to people, you can rent out your extra space and store things for people.
This will not only save your neighbor money by renting out space with you rather than a large storage facility, but you can also earn some quick extra cash!
Where Can I Get Money ASAP?
We all go through periods when times are hard and the cash starts to run low. If you don’t have an emergency fund, this might leave you feeling overwhelmed and anxious. But the good news is that there are actually ways that you can improve your financial situation much quicker.
Before you start feeling down, check out these tips. Keep reading for 8 ways you can make some fast cash when you need money asap.
1. Selling Items from Around Your House
One of the easiest and most convenient things to do when you need money asap is to start looking for it in your own home. Not the actual money itself but things that can be turned into cash. Selling items around your home is a good place to start.
There are a few ways you can actually go about this. Firstly, the internet has blessed us with platforms like the Facebook marketplace and Craiglist. These spaces allow you to post your belongings and sell directly to other people.
You can also utilize apps, such as LetGo, OfferUp, and Poshmark to post your items for sale. Consider placing the items on as many platforms as possible to get more inquiries.
The second route to take is doing a good old-fashioned garage sale. Collect all the items you’re ready to part with, put some tables outside and make some signs to attract people. Set fair prices but don’t be afraid to negotiate for the best deals.
2. Pawn Valuables
If you have some valuables around your house then it might be a good idea to pawn them for some extra cash. This includes jewelry, electronics, collectibles, etc. Consider keeping sentimental items, such as family heirlooms, since these aren’t replaceable.
Shop around your local pawn shops to get the best possible price. You may even want to do some research on the current value of your belongings before going so you know if they are quoting accurate price ranges.
3. Try a Payday Loan
Payday loans can be a great option for some quick cash as long as you stick to paying them back on time. A lot of quick loan companies just want to have proof that you have income. This assures them that you’ll be able to pay back what you owe when you say you can.
You may run into some places that want to check your credit first. Use your discernment to find the most legit companies. Also, pay attention to the ones that don’t lend out in your state.
4. Drive for RideShare Apps
The economy has closed a gap for extra income earning and opened a door of possibilities that we call the “gig market”. Driving for rideshare apps like Uber and Lyft are just two examples of ways that you can take advantage of the low entry requirements for contract work.
Sign up for the apps and start driving right away if you need money asap. Also, consider other apps that focus on deliveries, including UberEats, Postmates and Doordash. All of these combined can help you walk away with even more funds than what you needed.
5. Rent Out Extra Rooms
If you have some extra rooms in your home you could be making some great extra cash. Platforms like Airbnb allow people to post their houses, apartments, studio spaces, spare rooms, etc. for anyone to rent out.
Make an account and fill out your profile thoroughly. Consider also advertising your space on other platforms to drive more traffic and get the word out. Becoming a host is also a way to connect with other people.
6. Apply for a Title Loan
Many people may not be aware of this type of loan but it’s definitely one to consider if you have any type of automotive (cars, RVs, motorcycles, etc). A title loan allows you to put up your vehicle for collateral to borrow a cash loan.
Putting a loan against your car could give you the quick cash boost you need to get yourself out of a jam. Make sure you find a trustworthy company to find the right loan for you.
7. Sign Up for Gig Apps
Besides driving and deliveries, people need a lot of other things done for them. If you have expertise, talents or extra time, you could be of service to someone.
There are lots of apps that allow people to hire others to help them with random jobs. For instance, TaskRabbit might connect you with someone that needs help putting furniture together or painting a room. You may also find that someone needs a DJ or dog walker on Thumbtack.
Sign up for as many apps as you’d like and start applying for gigs. These are typically quick transactions so they’ll help if you need money asap. It’s a great way to make money from using your skills and knowledge.
8. Ask a Friend or Family Member
This solution might be a bit uncomfortable but it’s worth a try depending on your situation. If you have a trusted circle of friends and family members, put your pride to the side and reach out for help.
The truth is most people want to be of service for their loved ones if they can. Be respectful and let them know when you’ll be able to return your debts to help ease their minds. How Can I Make Money With no Money?
While a search online when you’re in need of some fast cash will produce millions of results, not all will be legitimate. It’s up to you to filter through the so-called noise. These 10 strategies will help put you in the black, even if it’s in a very small way. Once you are, resume planning and focusing on the bigger picture.
1. Sell old books and games on Amazon
Amazon makes it fairly easy to list and sell old books, games and devices on its marketplace. You can make more than just a few bucks If you have pricey textbooks from college. Be sure the books are in good condition.
You’ll get negative reviews if you attempt to sell books that are falling apart or games that are scratched up. Remember, be upfront about any defects, no matter how small they might be and no matter how few people might readily notice it.
2. Sell, or resell, used tech on Craigslist
The market for used electronics is vast. You can use Craigslist to part ways with your old iPhone or your MacBook. You can grab a premium for these types of electronics. Some people even flip items by buying them and reselling them.
You could also use a website like Gazelle to sell your used phones, no matter what kind you have. Companies like that have made an entire business model out of buying used phones and refurbishing them. Either way, you can expect to get a fair bit of money relatively quickly if you have these items laying around your house.
3. Do tasks with TaskRabbit
TaskRabbit lets you tap into an existing marketplace of people looking for help locally with chores. The tasks aren’t always small. This platform (along with others) offers bigger tasks, such as home renovations, as well.
Amazon is getting into the task business with Amazon Home Services. The services listed range from very small repairs to larger and more involved tasks that would take considerably more effort.
4. Deliver for PostMates
You can earn some cash when you’re in dire straits by using PostMates, and you don’t even need a car, just a bike for deliveries in busier cities and downtown centers. It is used often to get food from specialty places that don’t deliver themselves, but it can be used for many things.
PostMates states on their website that you could earn up to $25/hour doing deliveries. You could also earn some tips in the process so it’s a great option for people that are looking to do something in their spare time, similar to the big ride-sharing apps that are hogging up app stores everywhere.
5. Flip real estate contracts
Ir you’re thinking this is cost prohibitive, it’s not. You can flip real estate contracts without ever taking possession of the property. This isn’t a fixer-upper endeavor, just securing a contract and selling it to an interested party. That’s it.
You can do this with just a few hundred dollars in most cases to open up escrow. There are companies dedicated to teaching how to do this like REWW. It’s good for making a little bit of money, but is also potentially something more long term as well.
6. Sell on CafePress or Etsy
If you can design digital items, you can sell them for a share of the profits on a site like CafePress. You can do this with nothing more than some design software. They can include custom logos, inspirational sayings and other topical or trending designs appealing to the masses.
You could hire a designer to assist you with this, but you still need to come up with the ideas. This works best if you understand design yourself but requires no overhead. Items are printed and delivered on-demand. You simply receive a share of the proceeds. Similarly, you could sell items on Etsy as well.
7. Answer questions on JustAnswer
People looking for expertise online. JustAnswer (and several sites like it) allow doctors, lawyers, engineers and others with enhanced knowledge to earn a small income merely answering questions from people who would otherwise have to pay a hefty sum for those answers.
This platform is a great resource for people. It’s also lucrative (for the time spent) if you’re looking to earn a bit of cash in a hurry. Don’t expect to get rich answering questions, but you can generate a few bucks here or there if you’re in a bind.
8. Grab gigs on Fivver
No matter what type of service you offer, you can likely offer it Fivver. This is terrific for digital services such as graphic design, web design, short audio or video clip creation, editing services, writing and so on.
Fivver has expanded beyond just the $5-per-gig model. Fiverr Pro pools the best talent on its platform. Depending on your skills, you could do considerably well on here.
9. Walk dogs
There are networks devoted connecting dog owners with dog walkers. Rover is one of the largest networks of dog walkers out there. Of course, you could also use social media or just knock on neighbors doors to advertise your services, but you can easily use one of these services.

10. Babysitting with Care.com
You can easily do some babysitting when you need to make a few bucks quickly. Parents everywhere are always in need of babysitting and nanny services.

What Job Will Make me Rich?
In theory at least, it’s possible for anyone to become a millionaire regardless of occupation. All you have to do is save your money diligently, and invest it consistently and intelligently. But there’s no doubt that certain jobs lend themselves better to becoming richer than others.
Here’s a list of the five best jobs if you want to be rich.
1. Lawyers
For 2014, lawyers earned a median annual income of $133,470. That number may even be a bit of an understatement. Salaries for lawyers vary significantly based on geography. For example, attorneys who work in large cities, particularly New York and Washington, DC, can earn considerably more.
The area of specialization also has an important impact on income. Corporate attorneys and those maintaining private practices often make substantially more than the median for the group as a whole.
Law is also one of those fields that create parallel opportunities. For example, a corporate attorney has a reasonable chance of becoming a top executive at the company that he or she works for. This can include generous stock options in addition to a very high salary.
And a self-employed attorney may have major investment opportunities as a result of working with various clients. These investments, by themselves, could present million-dollar opportunities.
2. Engineers
Income wise, engineering depends largely on the area of specialization. For example, here are the median salaries in five common engineering capacities:
- Chemical engineers, $103,590
- Mechanical engineers, $95,780
- Computer hardware engineers, $110,650
- Aerospace engineers, $110,650
- Petroleum engineers, $147,520
Above average income isn’t the only reason why the engineering field can be an inside track to millionaire status. Engineers typically enjoy a higher level of career stability than most other fields. In addition, they also tend to be “well employed” – working for companies that not only offer career paths, but also above average benefits.
A stable career, with regular double-digit contributions to an employer 401(k) plan, could put an engineer into millionaire status within 20 years.
3. Medical Doctors and Surgeons
For 2014, physicians and surgeon earned a median annual income of $189,760. Many specialists earn considerably more. With that kind of income, you are earning close to $1 million every five years. Regular savings and investing will produce a million dollar bankroll in short order.
Doctors are also often in a position to sell their practices for a large windfall. That windfall alone could fetch over a million dollars in a successful practice.
4. CPA
The BLS income information for CPA’s is included with “accountants and auditors” and is listed as an annual median income of $73,670. However, since CPA’s are a specific group of high level accountants, it’s likely that the annual income is significantly higher.
Much like lawyers, CPAs also have substantial opportunities available to them. A CPA who becomes a partner in a medium or large accounting firm can earn well above the median income for the group. It also presents an opportunity to build equity in the practice that could eventually produce millionaire status.
CPAs are often on the front line in taking advantage of related business opportunities that they come across as a result of their clients. These opportunities, combined with the fact that CPAs usually have above average knowledge of investing, make this one the best fields for creating millionaires.
5. Investment Banker
Whenever we hear about multi-million dollar and billion dollar mergers and acquisitions, there’s an opportunity to earn substantial money. That income often flows to investment bankers. This is particularly true of those who have experience in the economic sectors where mergers and acquisitions tend to be richer and more frequent.
For 2014 investment bankers are lumped in with “financial managers” who earned a median annual income of $130,230, in the BLS report. Once again, geography and specialization have a major impact. As well, investment banking is a field that commonly involves out-sized bonuses.

For a photography hobbyist, this is a great way to earn a few dollars for some of your best photos.
6. Swagbucks
Swagbucks is perhaps the most popular — and most legitimate — of the online survey sites. Even if your friends and family aren’t comfortable leaving the 12-year-old alone with the kids, they might welcome him into their homes to entertain the kids while they get things done around the house.
Online Auction
Your 12-year-old is probably growing out of the toys, games and DVDs that he loved as a child. If he doesn’t have any younger siblings to hand these items down to, he can try selling them on online auction sites. Help him set up the auction and determine a price for each item. Hard to believe, but it’s true. Even millionaires follow a budget. The biggest secret on how to get rich and stay rich is spending less than you bring in. There will always be wants that exceed budget limits, even for millionaires, because there is not an unlimited supply of money.
3. Money management is key
Good money management is so important to get rich and stay rich. Money management is a behavior and habit. You need to be mindful of where you are investing and spending your money. There is a specific strategy to growing your wealth and maintaining it and you must follow it like you do a workout regime.
4. Invest your money for growth
Investing in assets that will appreciate over time and provide you with a return on your investment such as dividend or interest payments is smart. The goal is to build your asset portfolio and make it so strong that you can live off the passive income in your retirement.
5. Build your business around your personal financial goals
As a business owner you have more control over the money you make versus being an employee with a set salary. If you want more money in your pockets, you can increase your revenue and your profit margins to ensure you are taking home more money. The more profits you have in your business the more you can pay yourself a dividend or bonus, depending on the legal structure of your business.
6. Create multiple income streams
Smart business owners create more than one income stream as it protects them from fluctuations in the market. That means if one source of revenue dries up due to market conditions, other sources of income can protect you from a loss.
7. Don’t check out
This is my most important tip. Hiring financial help such as accountants and financial advisors does not leave you with the right to check out of the financial activity in your business. Nobody will care about your money as much as you do, so never give your financial power away.
Take the time to invest in educating yourself about money management so that you can oversee what is going and understand when an investment is not doing your portfolio justice.
How Can I Live on a Small Income UK?
Living on a small income is one of the challenges a lot of people face in the UK. The question “how to live well on a small income in the UK” is the question a lot of people ask because of the constantly rising cost of living.
If you ask me how to live well on a small income in the UK, I will say it is possible through being clever and making wise decisions with your small income.
The median average annual income in the UK is around £28,677. A lot of people earn far less than this average.
The cost of living is not very prone to fluctuation. If you know what inflation is, you possibly understand that it is one of the reasons why a lot of people struggle financially because income does not keep up with the rising in cost of day to day expenses.
Shop around for everything
This may sound obvious, but the truth is, not a lot of people shop around when they want to buy household things. There is no point in being loyal to a shop or service provider. By being loyal you will be giving money you don’t have away.
The mySupermarket app can be downloaded from the app store or google play. The app will help you see the current price of a particular item from the big supermarkets.
There is always a price war between the supermarkets like Tesco, Asda, Salisbury, Aldi, Lidl and the others.
You can also use mySupermarket on desktop. You can fill up your basket online and you will be able to see which of the supermarkets will be the cheapest to buy from.
Make use of free things
Before you spend money on anything, always think about if it’s something you could get for free first.
A very good example is buying books for yourself or for children. In my household, we make use of the library a lot. Whether your income is big or small, everyone pays tax, your tax is used to provide a lot of services that are free for the public including you.
So why not use your local library instead of buying books? You can keep the money in your pocket.
There are a lot of websites or apps you can use to find something free instead of paying for it. The most popular one is Facebook Marketplace where you can find items for free. It doesn’t take long to quickly check whether an item you want to buy is being offered free by someone on Facebook from your local area.
You could find a local group in your area where people give things they no longer need away for free. One of those websites you can use is FreeCycle.
Aside from free stuff, you might be able to buy some items at very cheap prices from church sales or car boot sales. There is no point paying a lot of money for gardening tools when you can get them at cheaper rates from car boot sales in your local area.
Rent or Mortgage
Accommodation cost is one of the biggest expenses for most people. Whether you are renting or paying a mortgage. There are ways to reduce your accommodation cost.
What we’ve done regularly in my household is to look for new deals whenever the deals we have on our mortgage ends. By doing this, we usually reduce our monthly mortgage repayment. A very important website that has been very useful for us over the years is MoneySavingExpert
As a homeowner, you can also consider having a lodger if it’s not going to be a problem for your household. If you are a family with kids this might not be something to be considered. If you are single this might earn you extra income monthly.
For someone who is renting you might consider renting a smaller apartment instead of a big house to bring the cost of your accommodation down.
Gas and Electricity
There are a lot of savings to be made from your utility bills. A lot of companies charge far too much.
For most of these big companies who charge too much, a lot of their running cost comes from advertisements and paying dividends to their investors.
There are other smaller energy companies that have much lower tariffs. If you are on a small income, you should consider switching to smaller energy companies that can save you some money.
You could also use a comparison website like uSwitch or Switchcraft to find good deals.
Water
Water supply is one of the areas where there are not a lot of competition because a particular water company is the only one supplying a particular area.
It can be a bit difficult to switch to another water company. You might consider checking that you have a water meter so you can only pay for what you use and not estimate.
You could ask your water supplier if they can install a meter for you if you don’t already have one.
Another way to reduce your water bill is to check if you qualify for assistance from WaterSure.
WaterSure is a scheme put in place to help people with their water bills. According to WaterSure, to qualify for their scheme, you must be on benefits and need to use a lot of water either for medical reasons or because your household has a certain number of school-age children.
Subscriptions and TV License
The human being can survive without entertainment and this is the truth. However, entertainment is now a fundamental part of our lives. But seriously, entertainment doesn’t have to cost a fortune.
As someone on a low income, there is no need to have Sky and Netflix at the same time. You might consider just having one of the two to save money. What about Amazon prime?

If you are a prime member, Prime TV might be enough to entertain yourself. If you are a football fan like me, Amazon Prime does have some Premier League fixtures.
For people that are Sky fans, you can subscribe to the only thing you need and not have the full package.
People are now watching less of the traditional TV channels like BBC, ITV and Channel 4. If you don’t watch TV channels, you don’t need to pay a TV License. That is some savings for you because it costs around £150 a year. I still watch some documentaries on catch from TV channels so I am still paying for it. For some people, they might save money if they don’t watch TV channels.
Transportation
This is one of the expenses that can take a large percentage in most people’s budget. Moving from point A to B doesn’t have to cost a lot of money and doesn’t require a new car. If you are on a small income, you need to understand you can save money by not driving a new or expensive used car.
In my household, we use the approach of going for a functioning car, not an expensive car. We’ve been able to save a lot of money over the years because of driving an older car.
You might want to consider an electric car when next you want to change your car. Electric cars are gaining a lot of popularity because they are cheaper to run.
Nissan Leaf is one of the electric cars that started the electric car revolution in the UK. You might want to try it out.
